Virus, Spyware and Malware
Removal
We
examine your computer or network for the presence of viruses, spyware
and other types of malware, like rootkits, trojans and worms. If we
find problems we may opt to remove them immediately on site, or
determine that a safer off-site removal is warranted. In that
case we will take your computer and return it to you as soon as
possible (usually within 24 hours). Contrary to what you might
think, off site removal of viruses, spyware and malware
usually
costs less to do than on-site removal. The reason for this is that much
of the time spent removing these items is done by special software that
runs
automatically, though it must be checked from time to time by a
technician to insure it is working correctly and the proper results are
taking place. In many cases, we can do this in our worklab
more
easily. Sometimes, if the virus is a threat to data, we
may also need our lab tools to perform backups or there may be other
needs
for some of our lab tools. Also, having a technician
there for 2-4 hours while waiting may also cause an
inconvenience to our
customers
since
they must also wait. This service is often combined with our computer tuneup service
for a complete computer checkup and to speed things up.
